Divine blue forms

Krishna and his court

Krishna is the heart of Sankardev's devotional theatre. Many Ankiya Naat plays tell his stories — his childhood in Vrindavan, his victories over demons, and his love for his devotees.

The large mask with its peacock-feather crown represents Krishna himself, while the five smaller blue faces serve related divine roles within the same production.

Blue skin signals divinity across the tradition, linking Krishna to Vishnu and Rama.
